ROUND 1

TARGET SPECIFICATION

STATUS:
PREPARATION


1. OBJECTIVE

Round 1 tests the authorization lineage of the isolated Challenge
Target.

The Target contains a protected state guarded by an intended
authorization path.

The participant's objective is to cause the Target to enter that
protected state and create an authentic Round 1 proof without
possessing the authorization required by the intended path.


2. PUBLIC CHALLENGE SURFACE

The Target exposes a defined public challenge surface.

Participants may analyze and interact with those published interfaces
for the purpose of satisfying the Round 1 victory condition.

Those interfaces constitute the attackable Target surface for the
round.


3. AUTHORIZATION LINEAGE

The intended lineage is:

    PUBLIC REQUEST

Under the intended path, reaching PROTECTED STATE requires valid
authorization.

Round 1 challenges that invariant.


4. SUCCESS STATE

The successful technical state is:

    authorization requirement bypassed

    designated Target reaches protected state

              v
    designated Target generates authentic proof
              |
              v
    independent Verifier accepts proof


5. PROOF CONTRACT

A Round 1 proof is bound to:

    - Round 1;
    - the designated Target;
    - the relevant challenge/session;
    - the protected-state event;
    - the integrity information required for independent verification.

Verifier-private validation material is not part of the proof.


6. VERIFICATION CONTRACT

The Target produces the proof.

The Target does not determine the final Round result.

The independent Verifier evaluates the proof according to the frozen
Round 1 verification rules.

The authoritative completion state is:

    VERIFIER = ACCEPT


7. EVIDENCE THAT DOES NOT SATISFY THE CONTRACT

The victory condition requires an authentic Target proof accepted by
the Verifier.

Accordingly, participant-controlled presentation, client-only state,
a fabricated response, an invalid proof, or material not valid for
the relevant challenge/session does not satisfy the proof contract.


8. ISOLATION CONTRACT

The Round 1 Target is a dedicated isolated Challenge system.

It is separated from production NEXUS CITADEL, SKYNET, personal
credentials, production credentials and unrelated participant data.

The Challenge authorization boundary is defined separately in
SCOPE_AND_RULES.txt.


9. AUDIT

Verification events preserve sufficient information to reconstruct
the claimed result, including the relevant round identity, proof
reference, verification result and integrity references.


10. ROUND FREEZE

Before Round 1 opens, the following state is frozen:

    - Target implementation;
    - Verifier implementation;
    - Challenge configuration;
    - Round 1 rules;
    - victory condition.

The corresponding SHA-256 integrity references are recorded before
participant access.
